Peter P. Sroka, age 62, of Newark, DE passed away on June 1, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lansford, PA, Mr. Sroka was the son of the late Peter and Sophie (Drozd) Sroka. He graduated from Lansford High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea. Peter retired from DuPont Edgemoor in 2003, after 32 years of service. Mr. Sroka was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, crabbing and hunting. Some of his favorite times were spent fishing with his son in New York. He loved to travel and especially looked forward to his yearly vacations in Aruba with friends.
Mr. Sroka was predeceased by his son, Matthew. Peter is survived by his wife of 38 years, Faith; his son, Michael and his wife, Nicole, and his beloved grandchild, Tyler of Bear, DE; his sister, Stasia and her husband, Louis P. Iannarone of Newark, DE.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for the kindness and caring support shown to Peter by Lisa Marshall and the staff of Specialty Rehabilitation, Inc., Susan Sartin of Dr. Bruce Tanner's office and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek from 9-11 am. A funeral service in celebration of Peter's life will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808.
