I had so many memories of Richard, (Dickie) Carman. We were friends for so long. But life got in the way and we grew apart. I wish I had stayed in touch Richard.

Richard was my grandfather and I think of him everyday. I remember when I was little he would take me and my brother out on our horse whenever he could or when we would go to the highs up the road and I would get a roll of hubba bubba gum and a big juice. My grandfather was the kindest sweetest man I´ve ever met and I´m really sad that he had to go but I know he was in a lot of pain the last couple months he had and I hope he´s doing better now.

I still think of Dickie almost everyday and talk about him and The Boys all the time. There are now people out here in The Midwest who know about him and the band, even though they'd never heard of us before. Frank and I always used to say "we've been with the best" and I still say that now. A picture of the band and our backdrop both hang on my wall... Dickie will not be forgotten. RIP, old friend and keep the beat goin' on the other side.

I will always remember and speak fondly of Dickie Carman. Not only for his solid drumming but for his sense of humour and friendship as well. "It's all in the delivery" he'd say if I failed at an attempt to tell one of his jokes. He was our bad-boy drummer, a Back Alley Boy in the truest sense. He had the image, the attitude and the musical ability. And he was spontaneous, too. Once when we were performing, he leapt over his drum kit into the audience and started pounding on the top of someone's head. "Joyce! Your head's on fire!" he shouted as he put out the flames. I'm gonna miss this guy but I know where he'll be...up there with Frank and Rob, the guitar and keyboard players. Keep an eye out fellers, he's on your side of the fence now. With the three of them together, there's gonna be some thunder & lightning in Heaven!

May the God and father of Abraham be with you as we await the fulfillment of seeing Abraham offspring fill the earth like the stars in the heavens. Genesis 15:5,6.
