It was a pleasure to have served with you SFC Connell. You showed and cared about the younger Soldiers, which made me pattern my career after your leadership. Thank you, R.I.P. NCO's lead the way.

I served full time with Robert (SFC) Connell many years ago in the Delaware Army National Guard. He was one of the finest NCOs that I had the pleasure to serve with. He was a truly GREAT guy!

I first met Bobby Connell in the late 1950s. We knew him as SGT Connell at the Middletown Armory. Our outdoor basketball hoop was damaged during a storm. Bobby would always let us play basketball on the Armory court inside. He was the first person to give us permission and we would always look for his car before we went inside. He was such a kind and giving person.
Later in life I served in the National Guard with Bobby Connell. He was such a good soldier and a better human being. He worked long hours to insure people's pay was submitted on time. He went out of his way to take care of all of his soldiers. I was proud to serve with Bobby Connell.
If I saw him around Middletown he would always stopped and talk about my family. I send Prayers to his family at this time.

Our Father died when we were very young. Mother raised us and Bob, even at that age was always very helpful and congenial. He got along well with everyone. Mother never had any problems with him. He was a great son and grew up to be a great brother, husband and father. Bob worked all his life and earned the respect of those he worked with. I could never asked or expected more from a brother. I will miss him as will all of my family. May God bless Jackie, Rob, Randy, Rickie a n special niece, Theresa

Dear Mrs. Connell, Robert Jr., Randy, Ricky, and Family :
I am so sorry for your Loss. I knew Mr. Connell as a Neighbor in Odessa growing up as well as serving with him in the Odessa Fire Company. Mr. Connell's Treasurer's Report accounted for every Penny that was either brought in or was spent through the various Budgets. I remember in the early years of my active service with the OFC. At a time when personnel were permitted to ride the equipment by standing on the back step of the equipment. Mr. Connell and others would move me toward the body of the apparatus and secure me from the possibility of falling off. I will have Mr. Connell and his Family in my thoughts and Prayers at this most difficult time. RIP Mr. Connell and God Bless.
