Ryan David Collins, aged 7 months, of Newark, DE, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children following a courageous battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Ryan was born in Newark on March 24, 2008. From the beginning he was an exceptionally happy baby and brought joy to everyone who met him. His big blue eyes glowed with love and contentment, especially when he listened to his favorite music box.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Morgan Collins and her boyfriend, David Hall, Jr.; father, Ed Cavaciuti; brother, Xavier Davis; maternal grandmother, Claudia "Jeannie" Collins; paternal grandparents, Theresa and Mark Cavaciuti; aunts and uncles, Nick and Nicole Collins, Anthony, Andrew, and Julie Cavaciuti, and Carol Davis; and cousin, Kim Davis. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, David Nickle.
Friends may call 6-8 pm, on Wednesday, November 12, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, November 13, at First United Pentecostal Church, 307 Liberty Boulevard (corner of Liberty and Tyrone), Minquadale, New Castle, DE. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. The family asks that those attending the service wear the color blue as a tribute to Ryan.
