Thomas E. Henry

Age 62, of Middletown, DE, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, in the Christiana Hospital.

Tom was born in Berkeley Springs, WV, the son of Raymond Henry and the late Irene Crites Henry. He graduated from Brandywine High School in 1968. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his country from 1968-1970.

Tom loved all of his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico and going on cruises. He also enjoyed watching and going to NASCAR races, Phillies, Flyers and Eagles games. Most importantly, Tom cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathleen Murphy Henry; his children, Jennifer Kathleen and her companion, Dannie El of Middletown and Thomas E. Henry Jr. and his wife, Stacey of Wenonah, NJ; his father, Raymond Henry; his sister, Linda Hovermale and her husband, Lewis of Berkeley Springs, WV; his brother, Shawn Henry and his wife, Sandy of Townsend; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Murphy and her companion Bobby Russo and Patricia Pepe and husband, Bruno; his grandchildren, Sophia and Mason Henry; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning, October 14, at 11 am at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends may call from 9-11 am. Committal services will be held in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made payable to USAA for the Sophia and Mason Henry College Fund, c/o Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
