Winifred Querey Obituary
Age 73, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Wilmington, Winnie was the daughter of the late Winifred (McElwaine) and Joseph F. O'Neill, Sr. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School. She worked for Johnson & Higgins as a secretary for 10 years and operated a daycare for 20 years. She had also worked for the Delaware State Police and the Attorney General's Office for 4 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years, Ronald J. Querey; her daughters, Mary Beth Querey of Wilmington and Kathleen Davis and her husband, Mark, of Bear; and her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Kimberley Querey of Wilmington. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Jason, Katelyn, Mark, Holt and Jack; two great grandchildren, Payton and Cayden; and her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Dominic Gatta of Claymont, DE.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Jr., Patricia, Margaret, James and Kevin.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday, February 20th between 6-8PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22nd at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, DuPont Highway and Roosevelt Avenue, New Castle. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.

My heartfelt condolences to all of you at this time of sorrow. A Mom is the anchor for her family and Winnie certainly was for the Quereys. I will fondly remember the many times my mom, brother and I would see her and Bub at church or around town and enjoy spending time catching up or just saying "Hi!" I know she will be sorely missed by Bub, her kids and grand kids.
