Yesterday my mother,Ethel Porter, showed me a Christmas card that had been returned to her from Lima Estates. This morning I had to call and tell her that her friend Alice had passed away. We shared many memories this morning.
Alice came to Harrisburg to help Mom celebrate her 90th birthday, nearly 98 years ago now.
"Aunt Alice" as my sister Jeannie noted in her message, evokes memories of laughter and tears that endeared her to us and enriched our lives.
My dad, Paul, enjoyed Uncle Earles "guided tours " of the Township when they would visit Havertown.
I thank God for placing you and your family in our lives.

There are too many memories to fit in this limited space and not enough words to express my saddness in the loss of "Aunt Alice" March. She was one of my mother's oldest and dearest friends and therefore also very dear to my heart. Our families shared many wonderful times together at The Heisey Ranch each summer. Aunt Alice had a rare sense of humor and just the thought of her brings a smile to my face. She showed great strength and resilience when life dealt her heavy blows and losses and in that taught me a great life lesson. My memories of her will live with me forever. Yes, Aunt Alice, "It's a beautiful mornin'; it's a wonderful day; the sun is shining; everything's okay!" God keep you.
