Earl E. Fowler

1928 - 2014

Earl Edward Fowler Earl E. Fowler, age 86, went to be with the his Lord on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA Born on March 20, 1928 in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of Ezra Fowler and Mae Fowler, who along with a brother, Raymond Fowler, preceded him in death. Upon graduating from Derry High School in 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served in the Air Corps and Air Force until 1949. After discharge, he attended Juniata College, graduating in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in business. After a short stint with Proctor and Gamble, he spent the remainder of his career with Travelers Insurance Company. Earl was married on July 6, 1957 to Joyce Rinehart Fowler who preceded him in death on September 6, 2006. He described her as the love of his life and established a scholarship in her honor at Juniata College for education majors. Earl is survived by his children and their spouses, Edward and Carolyn Fowler, Eric and Lori Fowler, and Jocelyn and Gregory White. Grandchildren and families include Daniel and Andrea Fowler, Timothy Fowler, Benjamin Fowler, Maria Fowler, Brandon White and NaShay, Kelby, and Lucas Lange. Earl served as a deacon, elder and moderator at the Drexel Hill Church of the Brethren. Recently, he attended Princeton Presbyterian Church in Springfield, PA He enjoyed socializing with the "Indian Guides" and Marple Newtown teacher friends. He enjoyed Bible study, gardening, cooking, and photography. However, his greatest passion was for his family who will miss him dearly. Services will be held at Princeton Presbyterian Church, 933 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, PA 19064, on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00a.m., where friends may call 10:00AM, with Rev. Pam McShane officiating. Interment Private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joyce Rinehart Fowler Scholarship fund at Juniata College at 1700 Moore Street, Huntington, PA 16652 Arrangements by the Frank C.
