Gloria Tatasciore Obituary

Gloria Louise Tatasciore, 93, of Ridley Park, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was born September 13, 1927 in Chester, PA, daughter of the late Bernardo and Rose Citerone (nee Caponetti). After attending Chester High School, Gloria worked at Stoter’s Department Store where she met her lifelong best-friend Rita who in turn introduced Gloria to her neighbor, Anthony (Tony) Tatasciore. Gloria & Tony were married on April 29, 1950, and shared a beautiful life together for 49 years before Tony passed in December 1999. She was an active member of the St. Madeline Catholic Church in Ridley Park, where she sang in the choir for many years and enjoyed traveling with her husband as part of the Seniors Club where she held several leadership positions. While raising her four children was always her first priority, Gloria enjoyed socializing with the many good friends and neighbors on Braxton Road, where she lived for 72 years. She also enjoyed being an active member of a ladies’ card club and multiple bowling leagues. Gloria loved vacationing with her family at the Jersey Shore and enjoyed multiple trips to Italy touring the sites and visiting their relatives at the Tatasciore home. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony; and siblings Mary Branconi (Joseph), Louise Broccoli (Francis), Philip Citerone (Lucy), Philomena Olenik (Eugene), Rita Algoe (Richard); in addition to brothers Herman and Bernardo, lost in childhood. Mrs. Tatasciore is survived by her children James (Peggy), Anthony (Daria), Christine Mason (Fred), and Mark (Tara). Gloria was blessed with eight grandchildren: David, Andrew, Natalya, Michael, Nicole, DeAnna, Ryan and Ava; and her extended family of many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Crozer Keystone Hospice Team and Home Health Care Team who helped provide care for Gloria over the recent years. There will be public viewings on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike Norwood, PA 19074 and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Madeline’s Church, 110 Park St, Ridley Park, PA 19078. The family requests those in attendance wear a face mask. A Catholic funeral mass will be held at St. Madeline’s Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Christian burial at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
