James Borek Obituary

James Borek, 64, of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania and retired from Sunoco, Inc., died peacefully at Riddle Hospital the morning of November 16, 2021. He told us, “Only the good die young.” He was 64, so where that leaves him, only the Lord can say. Those who knew him, know he was no saint. But they also know the depth of heart and loyalty he had. He told us never to sleep with socks on, because the feet need to breathe. He surprised his grandson with a pet snake from his back yard for a 7th birthday. He cooked surf and turf on New Years Eve for the family movie marathons before slamming pots and pans at midnight. He taught us how to shoot cans and cast a line. When he went hunting or fishing, he’d return with a meal, or simply photos of nature that captured his soul. He showed up for every single parade, play, volleyball game, and marching band performance his daughters danced him through. He put Longwood Gardens to shame for the amount of flowers he bought his wife. On the morning of November 16, Jim left this life for the after party. He joined his wife, Margie Hafich, and maybe they’re dancing to their wedding song, “I Love You Just the Way You Are.” His father Stanley is there too, to welcome him home. James is survived by his mother, Charlotte, brothers Stanley and David, daughters Valerie and Adria, son-in-law Randy, grandsons Parker and Silas, and rescue dog with a turbo tail, Jesse. He always told us he wanted a party instead of a funeral, with dancing and laughter. A private remembrance will be held by family members. Grief and love are two sides of the same coin. Jim lives on in the people who love him. The party he wanted, the celebration of his life, will be every time we see a sunrise, each time we go out on the Chesapeake Bay, when we sit around a campfire, or rock out to 70s music, when we hug the people we love, when we tell the wild stories of his life, and when his grandsons climb trees and smile and grow. Rest in Peace and Joy Dad. Condolences can be sent care of the Ward Funeral Home www.jwardfuneralhome.com

I will always remember our times together. Jim was a great guy who wore his heart on his sleeve and you always knew where you stood with him. I know he missed his wife dearly and now he is finally with her. Those of us left here on earth who knew him I'm quite sure will miss him as much as I will. Rest in peace my brother.
