Barb Kathleen Borek

Barb Kathleen Borek, age 81, a resident of Three Lakes, WI passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025 at Rennes Health in Rhinelander, WI.
Barb was born on November 5, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to Howard and Adela Wondra. In 1958 she met her husband, Bob, while working for the IGA grocery store and waited for his return from the US Army service to be married in 1965.
After raising three beautiful children and working over 30 years as a histology technician, they moved to Three Lakes, WI in 2004 to enjoy time on Virgin Lake. She loved working at the Three Lakes Thrift Store where she met new friends and outfitted her family with some wonderful attire. She was a prolific reader and volunteered her time at the library supporting activities revolving around reading. When not pursuing the next book, she belonged to the Three Lakes Women's Club focusing on supporting children at all grade levels.
If the weather was nice, Bob and Barb could be seen motoring around the lake on their pontoon watching the eagles soar and listening to the loons singing. These times were special along with visits from children and grandchildren.
Barb will be remembered for her generosity, love of family and kind spirit. She touched many lives in the community and loved her family with much devotion. A special thank you to the Three Lakes First Responders, staff at Aspirus Marshfield Cancer Hospitals and Rennes Health in Rhinelander, WI.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 25, 2025 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Three Lakes, WI. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Women's Club of Three Lakes.
