Sorry for your loss. Joan was a very lovely person, always spoke to you and always had a smile for you. She was a year ahead of me in school. R.I.P

Joan was my best friend growing up. I was lucky enough to reconnect with her many years later and we've remained close. I attended her memorial service and was very comforted to witness the strong love of her family & friends. Joan was sweet, loved unconditionally, and was very giving of herself to everyone. Dear, dear Joan, we will all miss you very much.

GATHERING FLOWERS
I left you in the morning,
With a sunset glow,
As you still walked beside me
Which made me sad to go.
Do you know me now in this day of dusk,
Its shadows a gleam with hints of rust?
Speechless because you know me not,
Or with words struck away because you know?
Flowers for me? No questions
For the gay flowers fading,
Left as I have been taken from your walk beside me
In the eons of moments of this day?
These flowers are yours. They are the measure
Of their blooming and so for you to treasure.
Take measure of them this while
And other whiles as I am away.
