Joseph Moderski Obituary

Joseph G. Moderski, 68, died Feb. 24, 2011 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. Joseph resided in Philadelphia, Folcroft, and Wallingford before moving to Millsboro, Del., six years ago.
Joe owned and operated Oregon Sporting Goods in Philadelphia for 32 years.
He then went on to help his sons start their business, Atlantic Telecommunications, in Upland, before retiring in 2005.
Joe was an U.S. Army veteran who served in the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles", a lifetime member of the 101st Airborne Association and a member of the American Legion Post 28. He loved to travel and was an avid Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles fan. Joe was a longtime member of St. John Chrysostom Church, Wallingford.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Harvey) Moderski.
Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Mary Ann (DiDomenico) Moderski; children, Joseph Moderski (Diane) of Aston, Robert Moderski (Margaret) of Bethel and Donna James (William) of Swarthmore; brother, Robert Moderski; sister, Kathy Collins; grandchildren, Joe, Justin, Austin, and Ashley.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday at 10:30 am at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford.
Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston.
Visitation: 7:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston.
Contributions: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
