Lorraine M. Egbert

1958 - 2016

Lorraine M. (Schaffer) Egbert, 57, of Oxford, passed away Sept. 22, 2016 in the loving care of her daughter Lauren, son Jeffrey, and daughter-in-law Rebecca. Lorraine is also survived by her husband Wayne, sons James and Sean, grandchildren Abigail and Charlotte, brothers Russell and David, numerous cousins, two nieces, and a nephew. Born on Oct. 19, 1958, Lorraine was the second child and only daughter of the late Russell and Phyllis Schaffer. Lorraine was a graduate of Sun Valley High School and West Virginia University. Lorraine had an enthusiam for life as contagious as her laughter and she dedicated herself to applying that enthusiam as a registered nurse for 34 years. Her particular passion was in labor and delivery and over the years, she assisted in the delivery and care of countless new additions to the region. Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother and in her free time, you could find her at a local yard sale or flea market in search of antique treasures. She loved being near the open water. Her vacations were spent in the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she would stroll the shoreline in search of sea glass and exotic shells. Lorraine will be missed and it is with bittersweet love in our hearts that we say good bye as she is reuinted with her beloved mother and father. A service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 203 Church Road, Oxford, PA 19363 at 10:30AM on Friday, October 7th. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help end childhood cancers.
