Charles Harry Egbert
June 16, 1946 – November 7, 2025
Son of Harry Egbert and Bertha Augusta Fader Egbert, Charlie was born in Staten Island, New York. During his childhood he enjoyed building toy models and had fond memories of playing with The Grace Family children. He attended New York Public schools. Charlie graduated from Thomas A. Edison State College with a 4.0 GPA.
Charlie met the love of his life Joanne Stasa Egbert while working at The New York Times. Their self-described "whirlwind romance" resulted in a happy marriage. The couple moved to New Jersey, had three beautiful children and acquired their dream house. Charlie and Joanne were happily married for over 50 years.
Most of Charlie's professional career was spent as a Tax Accountant. He began by helping family members with their postcards while he was under the age of 18. He is familiar with various tax laws and has saved clients thousands of dollars. He has been a longtime business owner of Multi State Tax Preparation Services.
Charlie was also an expert in Small Arms-Firearm Instructor for both Police and Military personnel. He enjoyed providing rifle training to Lakehurst and Manchester Police.
His father Harry Egbert fought with the 106th New York against the Nazis in World War II. He was in fierce battles with heavy casualties such as Battle of the Bulge and Remagen Bridgehead.
Following in his father's footsteps when the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts broke out, Charlie was on the firing ranges at Fort Dix. As a Small Arms expert he instructed all the branches. He trained 179,000 soldiers on eleven weapon systems. Charlie qualified troops and is familiar with the operation of 81 firing ranges along with the associated hazards. No doubt the training he provided saved lives.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, reading books and watching old cowboy movies. He had fun going out to breakfast, outings and expos with his longtime firearms friend Don Ianelli. Dinners with Tax Clients were a delight for him. Charlie is survived by his three adoring children Joseph, Mary Jo and Stephen.
