Lucy (Alberico) Cofrancesco was born in Paterson, New Jersey on May 31, 1930, the seventh of nine siblings, all of whom predeceased her. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Joe. Together they settled in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, where they raised their four sons.

Lucy found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a gifted cook, an accomplished seamstress, and a master of crochet. Above all, she was a loving and encouraging presence in her family's life, always urging her sons to pursue their dreams.

In 1994, Lucy and Joe retired to Holiday City in Toms River, New Jersey, where they enjoyed time with family, hosting holiday gatherings, and trips to Atlantic City. Lucy was a devout Catholic whose faith remained an important part of her life.

In 2022, as their health declined, Lucy and Joe moved to assisted living at The Bristal in Englewood to be closer to family. Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep, and Lucy carried his memory with her every day. After a weekend surrounded by the love of her family, Lucy passed away peacefully in her sleep on the evening of Sunday, February 8, 2026. They now rest together in eternal peace.

Lucy is survived by her children: Angelo and wife Halina; Joseph and partner Carl; Gary and wife Diane; and her daughter-in-law, Angela, widow of her son John. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Laura; Angelo and wife Heather; Joseph and wife Leah; Kelly and husband Nick; Matthew; and Dylan; and by her great-grandchildren: Travis, Jeremy, and Theodore.

Service will be at Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, 274 Market St, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407 on Thursday, February 12 at 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately thereafter at George Washington Memorial Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, New Jersey.
