Lynn M. Cusack

Lynn M. Cusack (nee Hoagland), daughter of John B. Hoagland and Winifred Carney Hoagland passed away on August 1, 2021 in Concord, New Hampshire. Lynn spent the majority of her years in Delaware County; originally from Chester, after marrying she moved to Folcroft and thereafter spent 41 years as a resident in the Westgate Hills neighborhood of Havertown.  She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, teacher and coach. She is remembered as an advocate for all children, serving as a special education aide and teacher, retiring from the Delaware County Intermediate Unit in 2007, after over 31 years of service.  Her passion for helping all children learn was a true joy.  She also was a long-term volunteer for Special Olympics in Delaware County. Lynn especially enjoyed singing and spending time with her grandchildren at the beach. Lynn graduated from Widener University with a degree in Education and received her Master’s degree, as well.  She likewise studied Special Education at Eastern University, earning additional credits post her Master’s degree.  In the 1980’s and early 90’s, she served as a swim team coach for multiple club teams, as well as Lower Merion High School. Lynn is predeceased by her husband, John F. Cusack, Sr. She is survived by her children; nine grandchildren, Kelly Cusack Lezynski (New Jersey), Alesandra Monaco Rutherford (Virginia), John P. Monaco (Michigan), Shaun M. Cusack (Abington, PA), Jacqueline M. Cusack (Philadelphia, PA), Kristen Cusack Dymond (New Jersey), Christopher L. Cusack (Philadelphia, PA); Colin Madole (Michigan);and Kathleen Lehmann Walker (Maine); as well as 15 great grandchildren. A private celebration of life and memorial for the family will be held in early fall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lynn’s name to Special Olympics- Delaware County P.O.
