I had the pleasure of meeting Mike while working as a vendor who was contracted by Iron Mountain to repair the printers in the Sharon Hill location. No matter how busy, no matter how hectic, no matter how hot it was in the warehouse, Mike always had a smile on his face. He would always greet me with a handshake and and ask how I was doing. To this day, I tell my wife how nice it was to work with someone who genuinely cared like he did. There are very few left in this world like Mike. I am truly sorry for your loss and apologize that this message has not reached you sooner.

The Dragonfly
Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions. Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their friend was dead, gone forever.
Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top. When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying.
So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never known existed. Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended. But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!

Dear Jan and all the Greeleys,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's/your Dad's passing. I will always remember Mike standing in Reen's kitchen at parties with a smile and a friendly hello. He was easy to talk to. He fought a courageous battle against cancer. I always admired him and his fight. I know your pain. In time, it lessons. The happy memories will begin to fill your heart again. I will pray for you as you travel this road.
Love,

My condolences to the entire Greeley family. I worked with Mike for many years and he will be greatly missed. Mike was also a true friend, he would do anything for you if needed help with something. I think I will remember Mike most as a great craftsman though. He worked with me on a couple carpentry projects and he truly was a perfectionist. Mike you are now at rest and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My heart breaks for the entire Greeley family. I wish there was a magic potion that could take away your pain and sadness. I can only hope that in time your pain will be replaced with all of the happy memories that you have shared. Rest in Peace Cousin Mike!! You don't have to fight anymore. There are no more doctors. There are no more tests. There is no more medicine. There is no more suffering and there definitely isn't anymore cancer. Rest now. I know heaven has welcomed you with open arms.

I once heard and I believe:
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
It will be the little things that you will remember,
the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem hard right now,
it will be the memories of these little things
that help to push away the pain
and bring the smiles back again.
