Michael Spadea Obituary

Michael J. Spadea, 57, of Woodlyn, PA, succumbed to end stage liver disease on Sunday; October 2, 2016 at Riddle Hospital in Media, PA. Michael graduated from Carroll School in 1976. He was a Sacristan at Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Philadelphia for many years, followed by his employment most recently with the DCIU, Pennington School in Garnet Valley, PA. Michael sang in the choir at St. Mary Madeline’s in Ridley Park, PA. Michael was the devoted son of Susan Spadea; brother of Angela Frattarelli (Dan) and Gregory Spadea (Regina); loving uncle to Victoria Frattarelli, Marc Frattarelli, and Sabrina Frattarelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 12 Noon at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 7 Sharpley Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803. Relatives and Friends are welcome to visitation at the church prior to Mass from11:00am to Noon. Catholic Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA. Flowers for church are welcome. Donations may be made in Michael’s name to The Catholic Charities Appeal, 100 North 20th Street; Suite 301, Philadelphia, PA 19103; or to the SPCA at any of their locations including, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380. I am sorry to hear about Michael's passing. We sat together in the choir loft at St. Madeline's and he was very considerate and attentive to the needs of other members. God bless your family during this sad time. He is in my prayers, as is Susan and the Spadea family.
