Uncle Nick was an integral and important part of my and my sisters childhood. He was always full of humor and wit and also knowledge. From camping at World's End, the Labor Day Parade in Ashland to family trips to Media. My friends loved his blunt and outspoken view. He captured their appreciation. He was also my great source for family history and how it was growing up in our hometown in the 40s and 50s. We loved him and will miss him! Bye pukie!

I was saddened to hear about Nick's sudden passing. Nick was Joan Hunsicker's committed companion for the past 10 years and brought much joy to her and everyone around him. I was in his presence about 20 times with Joan and her family, and enjoyed him immensely. He was a humble, gracious, fine gentleman with a huge smile, a twinkle, and a gentle way about him. He was always kind and welcoming to me, and I was so pleased that he made Joan (my "adopted mother") so happy over the past 10 years. I will miss him.

Please accept our condolences for the passing of a great man. "Uncle Nick" will be greatly missed by all of us. We loved his stories, his humor and his zest for life. Growing up, the Skolskys were our closest family. We loved visiting their home. Thanksgiving was an especially vivid memory. We would hold hands, say grace and then enjoy family, food and fun. We couldn't wait for his family to join us for the yearly Ashland ABA parade. Uncle Nick had an eye for beauty ... from his sweet smelling garden, the outside goldfish pond, the lovely pool and above all, our beloved Aunt Cassie (one of the most beautiful and kind women we have ever known). We are proud to say that Nick Skolsky was an important part of our lives. Most of our happy childhood memories somehow included him and his dear family. There will never be another like him.

We are saddened by the passing of Nick who was our Aunt Joan's dear companion for the past ten years. He fit right into our family gatherings and we so enjoyed his humor and stories. Nick never missed calling Aunt Joan each morning and evening, and brought a smile to everyone's face when he was around. He will be sorely missed by all.

After many years of being neighbors I'm proud to say that Nick and I became friends during our years at Boeing. I'd like to express my condolences here to 'young' Nicky and all of the other family members. Nick was a fine gentleman whom I will always remember with fondness.

I met Nick at my aunt Joan's house about 10 years ago. We used to talk politics since we were on the same page. Being A Vietnam veteran we talked about the horrors of war. A wonderful man. I know my aunt Joan, his family and all who knew him will miss him. RIP my friend.

Many hearts are left broken by Nick's passing. His companion of ten years, Joan Hunsicker, is especially saddened. Nick was welcomed whole-heartedly into Joan's family, attending annual picnics at her neice's home, Easter dinner at her daughter's home and numerous other "family" gatherings. Nick had a great sense of humor and enjoyed robust
political conversation with my (Joan's daughter) cousins. Nick and Joan enjoyed afternoons at the local horse races, and many a bus trip with the Middletown Township. Joan will miss his daily morning and evening phone calls, and all the other time in between. Nick and Joan were so furtunate to have had a second chance in a long term loving, caring, and compassionate friendship. We will all
miss him. Wendy Hunsicker

My husband and I had the privilege of meeting Nick through his good friend (my aunt) Joan Hunsicker. He visited us with Joan at our yearly picnic at our home in Milford, Delaware, and at Easter dinner with Joan's daughter, Wendy. I will certainly miss his bear hugs and lively conversation! He was a warm and friendly person and apparently modest as I was unaware of some of his accomplishments mentioned in the obituary. Barbara Willey
