Raymond McDevitt Obituary

Raymond J. McDevitt, 76 U.S. Army Veteran Raymond J. McDevitt, 76, died Saturday November 26, 2011 at home. Born in West Philadelphia, he was a longtime resident of Drexel Hill. He was a former Rampman for Eastern Airlines and he retired from the Bureau of Weights and Measures at the Media Courthouse. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Harry and Eleanor Hardy McDevitt. He was pre-deceased by his wife Jean McKnew; 3 sisters Dolly Heavens, Ruth Kane and Rose Nelson; 4 brothers, Harry, Eddie, Paul and Charlie McDevitt Survivors: His 2 daughters Jeannie (Jack) Kilday of Glenolden and Marie McDevitt of Media; 3 granddaughters Ashley, Tiffany and Kayla Kilday; 1 brother Jim (Fran) McDevitt. Funeral Mass will be Thursday December 1, 2011 10:30 AM at St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Ave., Drexel Hill, PA Calling in church after 9:30. Burial Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to CKHS Hospice, 5030 State Rd, Suite 3001, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 would be appreciated by the family.
