Regina Studzinski Obituary

On Tuesday, October 25, Regina Ann Studzinski (nee Santer), the daughter of the late Dr. Michael Santer Sr. and Regina Teresa Santer, died from lung cancer peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family.
Fondly known as “Jean” or “Jeannie” by her family and friends, and “Grammy Jean” by her grandchildren, she graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School in West Virginia in 1959, and in 1963 graduated from Wheeling College. Jean went on to work for the Secret Service in Washington, D.C., and later for the Central Intelligence Agency at the U.S. Consulate in Madras, India. Upon her return to the U.S., Jean found her true calling in education, and as a fourth grade teacher, dedicated herself to her students for over thirty years at Our Lady of Charity School in Brookhaven, PA.
We have an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the time that Jean graced our lives. From her brothers and sisters, to her friends and immediate family, we all can attest to the fact that Jean was one of those rare people who just knew how to live simply, kindly, gently and quietly in this world. She was an example to all of us as to how to live a good and Christian life. As her son, Dan so accurately stated, “Mom, did not have a mean bone in her body.” She accepted her cancer diagnosis saying, “I have lived my life; I have had eighty good years and if it is my time; it is my time.” With the same kindness that she walked in this life, she did so after her death by offering her body to the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University so that she could further medical education for the next generation of physicians. She was a West Virginia girl through and through; we know our Mountain Momma is at peace. When her ashes are returned to us, she will be scattered in the mountains that always called her back home.
She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law: Daniel Michael Studzinski and Holly Studzinski and their children: Daniel Phillip and Katherine of Burlington, N.J. and her daughter and son-in-law: Regina Studzinski Power and David Power and their children Maia and Kiran of Cambewarra, NSW Australia as well as the their father, Daniel John Studzinski of Kennett Square. She also will be missed by six brothers and their wives and one sister and her husband: Michael (Andrea) Santer, Thomas (Margie) Santer, Matthew (Pamela) Santer, Joseph (Barbara) Santer, Mary Katherine (Mark) Post, Stephen (Mary) Santer, and Paul (Lucinda) Santer as well as countless nieces and nephews.
