Robert Bernauer Obituary

Robert “Bob” J. Bernauer Sr., 82, was called home by the lord on June 7, 2022. He passed away quietly at home surrounded by family. Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gaston & Fay (nee McClain) Bernauer. Bob will be remembered for his never quit attitude. In Bob’s own words, “I never gave up”. For those that knew Bob, this was in his nature. He was a true fighter, a hard worker, strong, courageous, loving, hard-nosed and at times stubborn. Bob always fought for what he thought was right, he was relentless. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Pat Bernauer; Children Lisa (Greg) Smith, Jackie (Chris) Spagna, Robert (Loraine) Bernauer Jr., Matthew and Michelle; Grandchildren Christopher, James Robert “JR”, Anastasia, Ian, Madison, Nathan, Victoria, Bobby, Bridget, Zac, Justin and Samantha. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, Norwood. Bob’s prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills. I worked as an outside electrical contractor on all his Tinicum waste treatment plants for many, many years. I got to know Bob and his team very well over the years, sometimes responding to late night emergency calls- " Jeff, I need you now!"
Bob was a one of a kind individual- big heart, great talker, and listener, and oh my gosh- a great story teller!
He was never afraid to speak his mind, but had a certain amount of compassion with all those around him.
He served many roles in the twp, and I´m certain, was held in high respect amongst his peers, along with maybe a small amount of envy for his vast knowledge of mechanical things. I learned a ton from my friend Bob.
I will miss you sir. You left behind a legacy of friendship, knowledge, and respect.
Text in peace be my good friend.
