William Robert "Bill" Platt Jr.

William (Bill) Robert Platt Jr., of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania passed away at age 67 on August 7, 2018. Bill was born on March 19, 1951 in Chester, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Brookhaven. He graduated St. James High School class of 1969. He served in the Coast Guard from 1970 to 1974 and graduated from Widener University in 1985. He worked as an estimator at Boeing until he retired in 2015. Son of the late Veronica (Carney) Platt and the late William R. Platt Sr., Bill was the loving husband of Karen (Clark) for 46 years. He was preceded in death by his grandchild, Mckayla Platt. He is survived by his son, William C. Platt (Joanne Lehmberg) of Lancaster; daughter, Kelly A. Burgos (Victor) of Brookhaven; brother, Robert Platt; sisters, Patricia Platt and Clare (Platt) Beatty; and grandchildren, Emily Platt, Kati Platt, Megan Platt, Victoria Burgos, and McKenzie Burgos. Also survived by nieces and nephews and many treasured friends. He loved spending time at the beach, being with his family and grandchildren and serving as an elder at Faith Community Church. Those who wish, in lieu of flowers, may donate in Bill’s name to Faith Community Church. Friends and family may attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, August 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church, 3515 Edgmont Avenue, Brookhaven. Visitation: Saturday, August 25 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at the church.
