Alex Lazar Obituary
POWELL — Alex Lazar, age 94, of Powell, OH, passed away peacefully at his home on March 27th, 2021. Alex was born in Wilkinson, WV, on August 20th, 1926, to Simon and Anna Lazar. He was the youngest of a family of seven; six brothers and one sister who have preceded him in death.
On June 19, 1946, Alex married Norma Jean Claytor. They lived in Waverly, OH until they moved to Delaware. Four children were born of this marriage: Sherry Lazar, Mike (Rita) Lazar, Randy (Candy) Lazar, and Sharma (Steve Johnson) Lazar. He was blessed with five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Alex retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company. Throughout the years, he and Norma Jean sang at many churches spreading the Word of God through song. He taught the adult Sunday school class for many years. A number of people have told us how they were led to Christ through his teachings. He was an avid reader of many different books but studying and continually learning facts about the Bible was his passion. Two of his favorite scriptures were John 14:1-4 "In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you." Also, 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Alex has received his "crown of righteousness".
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday in the funeral home, with Rev. William Benner and Rev. David Cyrus officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Delaware Church of Christ in Christian Union or to the Ohio Health Hospice.

Uncle Alex will be greatly missed. He had one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. I love you. My love and condolences to Sherry,Mike,Randy and Sharma. I love you all dearly

Alex was a father figure and mentor to many he loved and cared about. Jim and I loved Alex and Jean , they were both special to us. Jim loved to sit and talk to Alex. We loved to hear them sing, both had voices like Angels. Alex will be missed here on earth, but God the Angels and Jean are rejoicing at his coming home to Heaven. Prayers for all.
