David "Trey" William Fitzcharles, III passed into the arms of his creator on August 5th, 2024. Known as "Trey" by all who knew and loved him, he was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 4th, 1989, to Kathryn and David Fitzcharles.
He attended St. Mary's School, Olentangy High School, where he was at the heart and soul of the wrestling team for four years, showing everyone that hard work, showing up and perseverance are what matters; and Ohio University. He worked as a Team Lead at Rogue Fitness in Columbus, Ohio.
He is survived by his Mother Kathy Fitzcharles, his Father David Fitzcharles, sister Jayme Fitzcharles, and brother-in-law, Austin Wern.
How many of us can say we were the hero in the lives of everyone we knew? As a child Trey imagined himself in those roles so often in make believe, and that was the man he became: our hero. Trey was the one you called when you were in need, when you were vulnerable, when you needed an empathetic ear, a ride home, someone to watch over you, someone to watch over your kids, someone who would tear the world in half just to make sure you were okay. He was brave. He was courageous. He was funny. And we are not sure how we are going to get on with this life now that he has left us.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and devotion to his family and cousins, Ben, Taylor, Luke, Ella, Cuyler and Jack, Sydney, Collin, Chuck, Nick, Katyn and Geoff Olszewski, Anthony Place, as well as many second cousins Aunts, Uncles and friends.
Family and devotion to family was everything to Trey. He taught us all how to love each other well, accept each other as we are, and be there for each other, how to tease each other and how to have fun. Trey loved spending part of every summer up in Oscoda, Michigan with his many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends building the kind of memories that will live within us all, and we will carry the rest of our lives in memory of him.
Trey traveled through this world in support of those he loved. He was not the type to think of himself first. He made the people around him better within his family, his circle of friends and those he worked with. If Trey was here to fix our broken hearts, he would make sure we were seeing with clear eyes what we have, not what we have lost-and that we were laughing. We know you have found peace in another life, free of pain and sorrow, filled with the measure of love blessed upon you that you gave to us in this world. We LOVE you, Trey!
We will miss you every single one of our living days and will carry you within each of us in our own ways so that we might not feel so alone without you.
