JoAnn Cubberly Obituary

JoAnn Cubberly, age 94, peacefully passed surrounded by her family on November 4, 2024. She will be deeply missed and is loved beyond measure. She was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on August 22, 1930, to the late Arthur T. Davis and Lysle (Huff) Davis.

She is predeceased by her wonderful husband, Wayne W.; and beloved son, Stephen W.; parents; and Sisters, Jean, Rhea, Joy and Beverly.

Collectively returning her into the hands of God are JoAnn's four Children, Monica Warden (Dewey), Scott Cubberly (Beth), Carolyn Cubberly (Carmen Cool), and Jill Love (Brian Stentz); grandchildren, Christopher (Janette), Mary Beth (Wayne), Ann Marie, Matthew (Marissa), Jake, Julia (Bradon), Spencer and Zach (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madelyn and Kellen.

JoAnn graduated from St. Mary High School in Delaware, Ohio and has been a proud member of St. Mary Catholic Church for over 90 years. She also attended St. Mary's of the Springs College in Columbus, Ohio. In 1950 she married Wayne W. Cubberly and enjoyed years working together at the family's photography studio. She was first and foremost an incredible wife and mother and was involved in many school and community activities. She particularly enjoyed the League of Women Voters and Women Today. She earned her Craftsman Degree from the Professional Photographers of America. The Ohio State Buckeyes football games were a major highlight in her life as she is one of their biggest fans! Her friends and family, reading, bridge and traveling also brought her much joy.

She accomplished everything she came here to do and always went above and beyond. As JoAnn would always say when finishing some well in going forward…Vaya con Dios!

Her calling hours will be at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio 43065 on Sunday Nov. 10, 2024, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church. 82 E. William St. in Delaware, Ohio at 10:30 a.m. on Monday Nov. 11, 2024. A private burial will be held after Mass. Donation may be made to Capitol City Hospice, St. Vincent de Paul, or St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware, Ohio. Condolences to www.rutherfordfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Cubberly was the kindest, most joyful person in Delaware! I loved seeing her at church, at Buns and so many other events over the years!! She left her beautiful smile, joyfulness, and kindness-imprint on her children. I will miss her. She made you feel like you were the lost important person in the room.
