Patricia Shroyer Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Ann Shroyer, age 87, of Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Pat was born on May 29, 1938, in St. John's, Ohio, to Ethel (Henderson) Hern and Venard Hern.

A proud graduate of Blume High School, Class of 1956, Pat's life was a beautiful reflection of kindness, service, and devotion to family and community. She dedicated 14 years of her professional life to Olentangy Schools, where she was known for her caring nature and unwavering commitment to students and staff. Even after retirement, Pat continued to serve others, volunteering with SourcePoint for more than 20 years — an organization she loved deeply. For many years, Pat was an active member of Delaware Bible Church, where she found great joy in worshipping and serving alongside her church family.

Pat was the beloved sister of Jim Hern (Donna), Ed Hern (Penny), Gloria (Hern) Hicks, and Anita (Hern) Schearer (Roy). She was a devoted mother to her two sons: Jeff Shroyer (Melissa Rosko) and Rodney Shroyer (Angie Parrott). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren — Jeffrey, Jonathan, Jared, Connor (Carmen D'Ippolito), Olivia, Anna — and her precious great-grandson, Ridge Shroyer. She is also survived by her former husband, Vic Shroyer, the father of Rodney and Jeff, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Margie (Hern) Fisher, and her parents, Ethel and Venard Hern.

Pat will be remembered not only for her warm heart and generous spirit but also for the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Whether it was spending time with family, supporting her community, or offering a kind word to a stranger, Pat lived with grace and humility.

Calling hours will be held at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, in Delaware on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled at the same location at 2 p.m., with a burial at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Pat's memory to Pregnancy Resources of Delaware County(https://pregnantdelawarecounty.org/donate/) or another community service organization close to your heart. Pat's presence will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in every life she touched. The Snyder Funeral Homes, Delaware Chapel is honored to assist the Shroyer family in their time of need.

My fondest memories of Pat were accepting rides on her golf cart at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. She had a big smile and a big heart. Thanks Pat. Nancy Johnson
