Richard "Rick" R. Humphreys Jr., age 68, passed away unexpectedly in his home after battling many years of a heart condition on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Survived by his son Warren (Kim) Melerine of Sidney Ohio; daughters Christina "Chrissy" Humphreys of Coshocton, Ohio and Katie (CJ) Mobley of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren Caleb Exley, Cloe Crothers, Owen Aisel, Olivia Neighbor, and Dexter Mobley; sisters Laurie (Rob) LeClaire of Clearwater, Florida and Carol (Doug) Pretorius of Wapakoneta, Ohio; brother Curtis (Cathy) Humphreys of Delaware, Ohio; nieces Alison Humphreys and Bree LeClair; nephews Andrew Pretorius and Jeffrey LeClair; Special friend Merry Dillman of Coshocton and seven great nieces and nephews.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents Richard Humphreys Sr. and Barbara (Jesson) Humphreys.
He spent most of his life in Delaware, Ohio, before recently settling in Coshocton, where he pursued his passion for painting. As a member of the Coshocton art guild, he was honored as Painter of the Month. Known for his warm personality, he never met a stranger and loved sharing stories about his poker throw game, his faith, and his deep love for the Lord.
An avid fisherman and golfer, he embraced life with an entrepreneurial spirit, always working toward his next big invention. A proud 1975 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School, he was a talented athlete who continued his education at Ohio University on a football scholarship. Full of life and energy, he will be remembered for his rowdy spirit, generous heart, and unwavering willingness to lend a hand for those in need.
Friends may call on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 10 a.m. — 1 p.m. at The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware Ohio. Services to honor the significance of Ricks life will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1 p.m. at The Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr., Delaware, Ohio, 43015.
