BARBARA BEARD WIDDOWSON

SEAFORD—

Barbara Beard Widdowson, age 82 of Seaford, DE died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Sara Beard Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Gordon Widdowson in 1997, her daughter, Kathryn Jean Widdowson in 2003, her brother, Lloyd F. "Skip" Beard Jr, and his wife, Delores and 2 sisters, Mary Helen Quillen and Jeanne Marie Klemens.

She was in sales for Montgomery Ward for 25 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for 50 years, where she taught Sunday School, was secretary for United Methodist Women for 20 years, was a volunteer with the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years, a grandmother aide for Blades Elementary School for 10 years and she and her husband volunteered with REACT for 25 years.

Barbara is survived by 5 sisters, Arinda Belote, Leona Tull and her husband Donald, Sally Johnson, Ellen Messick and her husband Ronnie, Betsy Carmine and her husband Donny and a brother, David Beard and his wife Becky.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, October 14th at 2 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 22025 Atlanta Rd, Seaford, DE, where friends may call from to 1 to 2. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 22025 Atlanta Rd, Seaford, DE 19973.
