David Snee Obituary

David William Snee

SALISBURY, MD-David William Snee, born October 8, 1958 in Tampa, Florida passed away at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore on Saturday, October 25, 2014, of complications caused by cancer.

David attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Texas, Maryland and St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Salisbury, Maryland. He graduated from James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury in 1976. He then attended Georgia Tech University, graduating in 1981 with a degree in civil engineering.

After college, David worked for Ricosau Construction for a period of time before going to work for Dozier Construction Company in Atlanta, Georgia where he managed the building of homes in many sub divisions.

In 1985 David returned to Salisbury to work for Lowenstein & Soule. Later he worked for Jack Plummer, and for many years he was a civil engineer for Soule and Associates.

Recently, David had been working with his brother, Joseph, in real estate investment.

David was a voracious reader and was knowledgeable on a array of subjects. As knowledgeable as he was about so many things, he was also completely unpretentious. Never boastful. Never arrogant. Always, just Dave.

Some will remember David's somewhat famous yearly money-making opportunity. As March Madness approached, many folks in town eagerly anticipated his NCAA basketball pool.

David enjoyed traveling and camping, particularly in mountainous regions. He had hoped to one day settle in the mountains of North Carolina.

David was a wonderful son and brother and will be sorely missed by his family. His mother, Marian Snee, passed away in May 2013. He is survived by his father, John Snee of Salisbury; sister, Rochelle Snee and her husband Joseph Knee of Seattle, Washington; sister, Christine Snee of Towson, Maryland; brother, Thomas Snee and his wife, Ruth of Hatboro, PA; brother and best friend, Joseph Snee of Salisbury; niece, Arden Snee of Salisbury; nephew, John G. Snee and his wife, Tara of Albuguerque, NM; and great-niece, Ellen Rose Snee of Albuquerque.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury, with a visitation hour at the church at 10 a.m.. Interment will be at Wicomico Memorial Park following the funeral service.

I am saddened to hear of David's passing. David was always so pleasant. I had the fortune to come in contact with David through the numerous subdivision and site plan applications he submitted to Worcester County Planning Office during my 27 year tenure. He will be missed.

I worked with Dave for several years in Salisbury. He was a great mentor and one hell of an engineer! He will be missed.

I am so very sorry to hear of David's passing. A fellow 1976 graduate at JMB. I have very fond memories of David, Joe and their father that date back to playing basketball with both boys David and Joe, and being coached by their father. Great guy and wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends. Pastor Rick
