EDITH SWIFT Obituary

Edith P. Swift

DELMAR — Edith P. Swift, 99, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since 2007.

She was born in Delmar, a daughter of the late Reuben and Cora Mae Smith Parsons.

She was well known in Delmar and the surrounding areas for her talent as an interior decorator, a job she thoroughly enjoyed for almost 60 years, until her eyesight began to fail. She was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury. She truly loved her church, her work and people.

She is survived by three sisters, Myrtle Spear of Laurel, Betty Patterson of Salisbury and Pauline Davis of Delmar. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert O'Neal.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 217 Beaglin Park Drive, Salisbury, Md. 21804.
