Edwin John Watts, Jr.

Selbyville, DE -Edwin John Watts, Jr., age 72, died on Friday January 20, 2017 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. He was the son of the late Edwin John Watts, Sr., and the late Naomi Wilmer Watts. He is survived by his former wife, Gloria J. Watts, mother of Kenneth Edward Watts and Angela Dawn (Watts) Emm all of Berlin. Also surviving are his two sisters, Priscilla A. Mitchell (husband Hillary "Mitch") of Mechanicsburg, PA and Linda E. Lewis of Baltimore, MD. He also leaves behind several relatives including brothers and sisters - in - law and nieces and nephews. For the past four years Edwin has been residing at Brandywine Assisted Living where he had developed very special relationships with staff members and residents.

Edwin John Watts, Jr. was retired from the US Army after serving 22 years. He attended Ryder College in New Jersey where he studied military science, business management, and business law. He was employed by the US Army as a logistics director. He was an active member of American Legion, VFW, AM Vets, DAV, and USO.

Edwin was very proud to have served in the US Military and passionately supported organizations which recognized the courage and commitment from those who also dedicated their lives to serve our country and protect our freedom. In his retirement years Edwin enjoyed attending and participating in events associated with the military.

The funeral service will be held at the Eastern Shore of Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Hurlock, Md. on Friday January 27, 2017 at 1pm. Reverend Dick Bunting will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans online at dav.org and/or to the Wounded Warriors Project online woundedwarriorproject.org.
