Owens of Delmar; a son, Thomas Warren Collins of Delmar; 3 grandchildren, Lisa Short, Andrea Hudson, and Randy Collins; great grandchildren, Kristen Abbott, Megan Ayers, Kaitlyn Webster, Madison Webster, Karilyn Webster, and several others; and his long-time companion, Barbara Tull of Delmar. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gloria (Perdue) Collins; a son, Lester Ray Collins, Jr.; and 4 brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30. Interment with military honors will follow the services at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock.

I love you poppop and I miss you very much. I can't believe you're gone but I know you're in a better place than I am. And I also know that I'll see you again. I can't wait to see you honored as a WWII vet and to give you a few Hershey's Kisses to keep for later :) I love you very much and you'll always be my Poppop Delmar.
