Melvin Sample Obituary
Salisbury-Melvin Lee Sample Jr., affectionately known as "Pappy," was born on June 16, 1943 and departed this life on November 29, 2016. He was the son of the late Melvin L. Sample Sr., and Maudie L. Sample. Melvin was a member of several organizations and charities throughout his life. He was an instrumental member of Queen City Lodge #1051, and National Finalist APA Team "Stick and Move". He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children, Melva Sample, Eric(Tori)Sample. Four grand-sons: Jamaal Sample, Kody Jacoby, Elijah Sample, and Kaden Jacoby-Sample, and a great-granddaughter; Lila Sample. Two sisters: Maudie Sample, and Peggy Sample-Jones. Three sister in-laws: Arnetta Sample, Stephanie Sample, and Clara Young. Three brother in-laws: Wallace Mann, Charles Mann, and Michael Mann. Melvin also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Sample, his parents, Melvin and Maudie Sample, brothers: James Sample, Robert Sample, Joseph Sample, and Lloyd Sample. Services will be held @ 11 am on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Wesley Temple U.M.C. in Salisbury, MD. A viewing will be held from 6pm to 8 pm on Friday, December 9, and from 10 am to 10:45 am prior to the service. Arrangements are in the care of Stewart Funeral Home by Holloway and Downey, P.A., 801 West Rd., Salisbury, MD 21801. Please visit www.thestewartfuneralhome.com to send condolences to the family.
