Ollie Ashburne Obituary
Nanticoke, MD-Ollie Belle Nutter Ashburne, died on February 15, 2015 at the age of 92 in Pinole, CA. Ollie was the youngest of 6 children born to Maurice and Alice Nutter in Nanticoke, MD. Ollie graduated from Salisbury High School in 1938 second in her class. From there she attended Dover State College for Colored Students and Morgan State College, finishing with a degree in English in 1942. Ollie then taught in the Philadelphia public school system for 35 years. Ollie was predeceased by her husband, Hurley Ashburne, who died in 1987. In 2012 she moved to Pinole, California to be closer to her only child, Michael Ashburne Esq and his wife Sarisa, a CPA. Ollie is also survived by her grandchildren Geoffrey Ashburne Esq, and Jasmine Pico Esq, and her great grandchildren, William and Savannah Pico, all residents of southern California. Her nieces, Mary Alice Nutter and Donna Nutter Dawson Esq, reside in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Midlothian, Virginia respectively.
