Paul B. Davenport

Vienna-Paul Barry Davenport, 84, of Vienna, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at UMSMC at Easton.

Born April 24, 1932 in Aireys, he was the son of the late Clarence Leon Davenport and Elizabeth Margaret Willey Davenport.

Mr. Davenport served in the US Army during the Korean War. He attended Salisbury State Teacher's College, then University of Delaware where he earned a PhD in Mathematics.

From 1957 to 1959, he taught math at the University of Delaware; later worked for Westinghouse, then NASA in Greenbelt, retiring as an aerospace technologist. He was a long time member of Chicone Ruritan Club and at the time of his death was a member of the Planning and Zoning Board in Vienna.

He is survived by his wife, Isabelle; two daughters, Shelley Dziedzic of Connecticut and Paula Miller of Baltimore; five granddaughters, Heather Giovelli of Florida, Hollie Dziedzic of New Britain, Connecticut, Erika Earrington of Baltimore, Jenna Miller of Baltimore, and Aubrey Miller of Salisbury.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Davenport Whitley.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00PM at Vienna United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Barbara Mills Neighoff will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.
