Robert "Bob" H. Austin

Salisbury-Robert "Bob" H. Austin, 82, of Salisbury, peacefully departed this life to enter eternal rest on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

He was born May 7, 1932, a son of the late Robert and Edith Housel Austin.

"Pop", as he was known by his family, proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a school teacher for 39 years in Ohio, Snow Hill, Berlin and Salisbury. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Elks Lodge of Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. He was a true dog lover and will be greatly missed by his faithful dog and companion, "Gypsy."

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynn S. Austin; two daughters, Bobbi Miler and husband, Timothy of Keller, Texas and Jennifer Dennis and husband, Charlie of Denton, Texas; two sons, Pratt Dukes of Virginia Beach and Robbie Dukes of Salisbury; six grandchildren, Lauren Dukes, Duke Dennis, Julia Lee, Taylor Dukes, and Casey and Mason Cook; and two great grandchildren, Raelyn Woodhouse and MaKenna Lee. He is also survived by two special friends, Doug Spurry and Dwayne Byington; and a host of friends, as he was a friend to all he met.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 211 Phillip Morris Drive in Salisbury, where a visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00. Dave Duitscher, Chaplain, will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21801.
