Stephen Payne Obituary

Stephen Bruce Payne

EDEN-Stephen Bruce Payne, 62, of Eden passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his residence. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Walter Benjamin Payne and Helena White Payne.

He was a lifetime member and past sachem of Fruitland Red Men Tony Tribe 149 and a member of the former Delmarva Van Club. He previously was employed with Shore Builders until his construction accident in 1984. He enjoyed working with his hands in woodworking.

He is survived by a daughter, Dawn M. Breasure of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Jason L. Payne, Dustin C. Breasure and Brock A. Breasure; a brother, Ben Payne and wife, Suzie, of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Janet Wood and husband, Larry, of Noblesville, Ind., Marcia McCormick and husband, David, of Rockville, Va., and Donna McClellan of Virginia Beach, Va.; former wife, Kim F. Maguire and husband, John, of Eden; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury with the Rev. J. Harvey Dixon officiating.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 70, Fruitland, MD 21826 and or the Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
