Bonnie and family,

I just learned of Alex's passing and I apologize for not posting this earlier.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I knew Alex from Carter Street Playground...my family and I lived just doors away from the park. I speak for many that echo the feelings of respect for Alex from the many days spent in the "shanty" playing ping-pong or basketball in the gym to the wild and wonderful winter evenings ice skating at the playground.

After grown and attending college, I'd run into Alex at the ballgames, where he'd always find a 3rd baseline box seat for my friends and I. Though I haven't seen Alex in a few years, I recall all my photographic "visits" to his home where we'd chat about the old days at the playground. The old photos I would print for Alex never failed to bring a smile to his face.

Alex my friend, you are missed. Thank you for providing leadership and direction for us kids. We thank you sincerely.

Godspeed, friend.

I have fond memories of sharing summer picnic meals with Alex and his family.
Sitting in the back yard under the tree cooking hot dogs with him. He made me laugh. He always had some little humor to share...and that smile!
I'm glad I got to know him.
To all of his family I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I am saddened by the news of Alex passing but I know for sure he is in Heaven. Growing up on Highview Dr was so special for me, every neighborhood kid was my friend and their parents were truly like additional parents to all of us. It was something I am sure many kids never experience. Alex especially was like another Dad to me. I have so many fond memories of him, funny, serious and more. Ironically I am coming to Rochester this week to help celebrate my own Mom's 80th birthday and arrive Thursday morning(God willing no flight delays) and am going to definitely be there with his family and it will be an honor to pay my respects to him.
