I send my deepest sympathy to Bo’s family. During the summer, we would sit outside and discuss Philosophy, History, Politics and common sense. He would comment about my writings and joke about me taking notes of his ideas. I started this poem in the beginning of last summer and did not finish it until today. Because of his love for the warm weather, I dedicate it to Bo.

Summer

Summer morn in splendid praise
The warmth of sunshine
On the face
A smile forms

Trees look alive
Flowers with bloom
Birds sing consent
Insects dance to the tune

How brilliant the summer breezes
The bones are contented
Once again bringing delight
And warming kisses……

Love,

Everyone at the Army Reserve Center was saddened to hear of Bo’s passing. We all remember his laugh, his outlook on life, and his zest for living. I first knew him as a customer at the PX, but as the years went by he became my friend. We shared our experiences in the Air Force, and talking about everything from politics to sports. I’ll miss you Bo, and can still hear you saying before you left “I’ll see you again soon”.

I met Bo in New Jersey when he visited his Funky Heavy brother, Bruce. He played cards with us at my kitchen table. When I moved to Rochester, Bo was like a big brother and made sure that I was safe while I got acquainted with Rochester. I believe his protective, loving energy will continue to bless Rochester. Much love and peace to the Pitts' family.

My memory of "ALTON" whom I called him at times because that was his given name. I always used his name to make him feel extra special because everyone else called him "BO". I met Bo when I was very young and very pregnant. We became friends after Anthony was born. It was not more than a month later when he told me if I ever needed anything to just let him know, that's just the person Bo was. Little did I know he would become "THE BEST MAN" I could have ever brought into our life. When ever he drove by the house and I was sitting on the stoop with Ant he would stop and just say hello. He always played with Ant and held him high in the air in the palm of one hand and said "ALI-OOP" Ant would just laugh and drewl on top of Bo's head but he didn't even care. He often told me he would babysit and Ant would be in good hands but I thought "YEAH Right". Well needless to say Bo was always there. It was the day I got a phone call from daycare that Ant was sick and I was at work and didn't know how I was gonna get there quick to get him. Well Bo said he'd go get his car and take me. Little did I know that was gonna start the most incredible time of my life. Bo developed such a relationship with such a little guy it was UNBELIEVABLE to me. Bo always told me " I want the calf not the cow", was I offended at first, "NO" I thought it was cute. Well I could of course go on and on and on, but those who know Bo , know that's just how he was. Over time our relationship developed and I couldn't of met or asked for a better man than Bo to bring in to our son's life. I really can say we had our share of ups and downs and we were no longer a couple. All that matter was that Ant remained in Bo's life and Bo remained in Ant's life. Bo was a DAD that some dad's struggle to be. He was there from taking Ant to the hospital, to spanking with "Ant's paddle", to being his sport coach, to teaching him about the birds and the bees but most of all to loving him. All I know is that anyone can be a "Father" but it takes a hell of man to be a hell of a
"DAD"
and Bo was that to our son. I loved Bo, I still love Bo and there will always be a place in my heart for Bo.
All I can say now is ALTON, I'll miss you but I will never forget you. Thank you for everything you were, are and you did with and for me. Thank you for being the " GREATEST DAD" for Anthony.
He was there the 1st day of baseball to the last football game. But most of all he was there unconditionally to love Ant" Meat head" as he called him.
I was glad I was able to tell Bo these things just last year for I wanted him to know how I truly felt for him. He told me that I was his akilious heel and that someday he would die and I'd still be his akilious heel but at least he'd have a smile on his face.
" I love you Bo"
I want to thank all of you for letting
me share this with you. God Bless and as Bo always said, shed no tears and if you do let them dry in the memory of Bo in happiness.

I would like to send my deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. Bo was a good man...a proud man. Bo was not only my friend, but rather regarded as a part of my family. I always appreciated his presence. He was funny, wise, dignified and honest, everything you could ever ask for in a human being. Bo...I will miss you, but never forget you!

You will truly be missed. There are people who we meet in our lives, and although we may not know the reason, they leave us with something so special. That was Bo to us. He was like a grandfather I didnt have, his words of advice, his wisdom that was was so real and down to earth, and his encouragemnt to always push everyone to do the right things. I am so saddened because i looked forward to seeing "Mr. Bo".....Thank you for always looking out for my mom, I always knew she was in safe hands!! We love you very much and will truly miss you!!

You were a bright light in my life and always made me laugh. Thank you for the many coffees and hot chocolates you gave my coworkers and myself, even when I told you not to- you said" I do it cause I want to". my world will be a bit less dim now that you are gone, but I'll remember you every month and take a moment to remember how we laughted.

God Bless you,

Im gonna miss you uncle Bo. Not because I am used to seeing you everyday. But because I know it will be a long time before I see you again. I am sorry for the lost years when I hardly would see you. You never realize how much you miss someone till their gone.

We are saddened to hear of our friend and classmates passing. We were friends from Concord Street and classmates at BFHS (Class of '58).
May he bring great joy to those beyond as he did for all of us.

Reading the Rochester D&C on-line from Georgia from where we are spending the month, I was so saddened to learn of Bo's passing.

I have known Alton since our freshman year at Frankiln HS and our paths have crossed many times over the last 50 plus years including during his career in the Air Force.

Part of the joy of our many Class of 1958 reunions was knowing we would have the opportunity to re-aquaint with Bo

We are in Georgia with 3 other classmates, Dan Reubens and Pat (Lore)and Bob Barkin. All express their deepest sympathy.

Bo will always be a special person to me. I already miss his upbeat manner and forever smile.

My deepest sympathy to the family -you lost a true treasure.

Rest in Peace, Bo. I'll miss "sparring" with you.

To Mama and the rest of the family,

I wish I could be there with you through this time but even though I can't be there physically know that you all are in my thoughts and my prayers.

Love you all,
Natalie
