Annette Shapiro Obituary
Rochester: 87, of Rochester, NY died Tuesday in Cleveland, OH, born to the late Sol and Esther Lederman, Jan 28, 1930, in Rochester, NY.
Predeceased by her son Richard, husband Arnold. Survived by her loving children Ellen (Alec) Greenfield and Paul (Linda) Braiman; grandchildren Elisabeth, Matthew (Meagan), Zachary, Noah, and Jordan; several stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.
Annette served her community throughout her entire adult life, taking many leadership roles: first woman President of Temple Beth David, President of Jewish Home of Rochester, President of former NY branch of Women's League of Conservative Judaism, and an active board member of the Jewish Family Service of Greater Rochester.
She worked many years as a dental assistant/office manager. An avid cook and baker, she enjoyed making food for both small and large parties and coordinated the publication of a cookbook titled "Beyond Chicken Soup". She was a strong classy woman, a perfectionist at heart…and we will greatly miss her.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 8th, at 11:30 AM at the Temple of Israel Cemetery, Cranesville, NY. A period of mourning will be observed at 67 Falcon Trail, Pittsford, NY. Donations may be made in her memory to Temple Beth David, 2131 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY.
