Charles C. "Chuck" Scardino

Penfield - Monday, June 29, 2020 in his home at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Rose; sister Freda Hill Survived by his devoted wife, Terry of 56 years. Children; Tony (VA), Janine (Greg) Dowden, Steve (VA), and Christina (Matt) McCormick. Grandchildren; Peter, Joseph, Michael, Meredith, Ewan, Jacqueline and Greyson. Sister; Sara Mitrano and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Chuck lived a full life, both personally and professionally. He was an entrepreneur throughout his career, which started with the ownership of several donut shops around the city. Transitioned to the selling of residential and commercial real estate in New York specializing in the sale of mobile home parks. Then finishing his career with one of his greatest endeavors, the renovation and transformation of the historical 1923 Elk Hotel in downtown Rochester from a neglected piece of property into an extended stay residence for the underserved, known as Elk Place.

Chuck was known by all as a generous man, full of life with a charismatic smile. He brought joy to many, whether it was hosting 1st graders with free donuts on a school trip, volunteering his service for years through the Kiwanis club, meeting new friends from around the world at his vacation home in the Dominican Republic, or hosting family and friends by the pool each summer. Throughout the years he could always be found supporting and cheering on his grandchildren at their many activities and sporting events. Through it all, the love for his wife Terry continued and together they leave a legacy for many to admire.
