Emilee and Charles Higbie at Oak Hill 2005

I lived near the Higbies and spent time with them and drove them to Oak Hill for lunches and dinners and sat and always had a delightful conversation. I admired Emilee for many reasons, she was talented beyond words, but she saw art in everything, her perspective of nature and beauty was always present, she saw what most people did not. She was a great friend and she always told me that behind this old face is a young girl trapped in the body of an old woman but I am still just a young girl, and that she was, a young spirit, ageless.
I will truly miss my friend.
