Harvey Siebert Obituary

Siebert, Harvey E., II
South Bristol: Harvey E. Siebert, II, age 84, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009, unexpectedly. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Anita Siebert; his sons, David (Sheralyn), Jeffrey, and Randy (Joie); his brother, Allynn (Jean) Siebert; his grandchildren, Margaret, Marianne, Danielle, Ryan and Megan; three nephews and two nieces.
Mr. Siebert served in WWII with the United States Army Air Corps as a Communications Sergeant. He was the first person on American soil to receive General MacArthur's message that the Japanese had surrendered. He was a Past President of the Rochester Rotary Club, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of the Shriner's Marching Band, and was very active in his church community.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 North Main St., Canandaigua. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford, 21 Church St., Pittsford, NY 14534.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620 or to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 4053 Maple Rd, Suite 110, Amherst, NY 14226.
