Janet Sparka Obituary

Sparka, Janet Gausman

Webster: Janet Gausman Sparka, 90, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Webster, New York. Born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised by Howard and Alma Carmichael in Bethesda, Maryland, she is survived by her brother, Thomas Carmichael, and his wife Helen, her beloved daughters Karen S. Sparka, Jenny J. Sparka and Peggy L. McLeish, and her husband Andrew, and grandchildren Jeffrey J. Moccia, his wife Lauren, Jennifer L. Moccia and her husband Sam.

Jan will always be remembered for her zest for life, her beautiful soul, her "Lucy" moments and her warm laughter. She was happiest spending time with her family and friends, traveling the world and enjoying music. A talented woman, devoted mother, adored grandmother and lover of animals, Jan was a ray of sunshine that made the world a better place. Her family is comforted by the knowledge that she is free and at peace as she is joyfully reunited with those loving family members who have also departed this life. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Karen - So sorry to read about Jan. Your Mom took me under her wing after I took her travel course at Vacation Station in Penfield. Jan loved to go to Charlie Browns after class for a Charlie Brown salad. I have wonderful memories of working for her and with her and you in downtown Rochester. Jan was a warm and caring person with a heart of gold. Please let me know your plans. With heartfelt sympathy and caring thoughts, Judi Sturge
