To our daughter, Devan, Jerry´s wife and Jerry´s family- we speak of you often and have kept your memory alive in this family. We know that you are with your Savior and now know all the mysteries of life we used to conjecture together about. We will see you someday in your Heavenly home. With love from your mother and father in law, Chris and Bruce.

I am in shock reading Jerry's name here. I worked with Jerry at Senator Alesi's office and he was one of the most authentic Christians I have ever met. He had the best dry wit and wisdom--he was hard-working, loving, kind--and we loved playing jokes on him. He loved to say, "don't get your undies in a bundle." So, one day we planted the biggest pair of women's underwear we could find in his desk drawer. Jerry was very modest, so he turned bright red and looked at us with that smirk he had as we snapped a picture. The stories I could tell. He was a great man. My sincerest condolences to his wife and family. I can't imagine what took him so young--it doesn't seem fair--and it was way too soon. I am so sorry. He touched many people's lives and will be sincerely missed.

My sincere condolences to the Helfer family. I was so sad to hear of Jerry's passing. I always think of him and smile at the way he would tease me. "Rub rock salt..." who knew I would carry that phrase with me over 20 years. I am praying for peace for all of you.
