Marlene Wittman Obituary
Pittsford - Marlene Rita Wittman passed away peacefully October 26, 2019 at the age of 57, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Marlene is survived by her brothers Roger (Deborah), Craig, and Douglas (Jennifer). Nieces Jeni, Marni, Audrey and nephew Connor. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Helen.
Marlene was born July 14th 1962 in Rochester N.Y. to Lawrence and Helen Wittman. Graduated top of her class in 1980 from Pittsford Sutherland High School. Attended Princeton University graduating 1983 AB, Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs. Studied abroad at Fudan University Shanghai, and National Chengchi University in Taipei Taiwan and was fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well as 3 other languages.
Marlene moved to Boston, London and eventually settled in Hong Kong. She held numerous positions with a focus on Asian Securities, Equities trading and International Law. As a licensed investment advisor with international experience, Marlene founded Aquitaine Investment Advisers Ltd., based in Hong Kong in 1999. She continued on as Managing Director and CEO for 20 years.
She was brilliant and never stopped trying to achieve bigger dreams. The ever consummate professional, Marlene never let cancer get in the way or slow her down, she worked through years of treatments and surgeries. She applied that same level of love and dedication to her friends and family. She always wanted the best for the people she knew and loved. Toward the end she was still moving forward, on to her next goal. Marlene changed the many lives that she touched and will certainly be missed.
A committal and prayer service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Christ Our Light Chapel at 10:30 AM on November 23rd, 2019. Close family and friends are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation https://www.bcrf.org
