I knew Nate in the 1980's. One of the nicest guys ever. We used to hang out some. Lost touch, but thought of him often. I just wanted to look him up and found he had passed. Way too soon for such a wonderful person.

Nate was my closest friend. We lived across from each other. Played hockey, football, baseball, cards ("Tonk") and honed our "ranking" skills together. Nate (or "Punkin" as his Mom called him) was a great person. The world is a bit less without him. His spirit goes on, though.

You used to call me “Fan Farrell Firpo” not sure why but it was always funny. You also said that you were going to go tell Ruthie(my mom) that I was causing trouble again. I haven’t seen you Nate in 40 years, however I’ll never forget you. I love you and say Hi to my Mom, Dad & Brother Tom in Heaven. Til we meet again.

Sad news and so sorry for your loss. Played sandlot baseball and football with/ against "Pumpkin" in the old neighborhood during our teen years. Very nice, funny, intelligent and an underrated athlete ! Everyone knew Pumpkin ! Ran into him in later years at Finger Lakes Racetrack and as expected, he was the same old Pumpkin ! Rest in peace my friend !

Mr Hicks was my dialysis patient for several years, and, I admit one of my favorite people. He diligently "cycled" his way to drop tons of weight so he could qualify for the transplant. We told each other jokes, some off-color, and he even took my suggestion to put peanut butter on his hamburgers. Now that was trust. When I came to see him on the machine twice a month, he was always laughing and lifted my spirits. We worked through a lot of illness together in the RGH dialysis center and all of my colleagues loved him.

I am in New Haven now and just learned that he died. I am so sorry, so genuinely sorry. I don't know what happened. He got so little time from his transplant after working so hard.

My love to the family. He cared a great deal for you and we talked about you all, as well as all the fun things he loved to do when not on the machine.

We all referred to him as the hardest working dialysis patient.

Nate was one of the family! He knew just when to swing by when mom was baking cookies as we were growing up on Joseph Avenue. He was part of the DZIELSKI family and was one of my brothers. (I had six, why not seven!) He was the kindest person and always a joy to be around. Though thru the years it was far and few between visits, yet he still remained friends and hung out with the "boys". Nate you will be missed. While you are in heaven, stop by Mrs. Dzielski's and enjoy a cookie! Your family, the Dzielski's
