Stephen Hryvniak Obituary
Greece - Thursday, May 23, 2019 at age 70. Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Hryvniak; his sons, Chris Hryvniak, Mark (Maureen) Hryvniak; beloved grandchildren, Emmaline and Peter; brothers, Joseph (Deborah) Hryvniak, John (Kathy) Hryvniak, Thomas Hryvniak; sisters, Theresa Campbell, MaryAnn (Edward) Howie; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. We will miss his passion for photography, his gift for socializing and his love for his family.
Friends may call Friday (May 31st) 4-7 PM at Vay-Schleich & Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (June 1st) 9:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hickok Center for Brain Injury or Journey Home Hospice in his memory. So I went to my eye doctor yesterday and by-the-by it was asked if I knew Steve (since we both worked at Eastman House) and then was told of his death.
I had some great memories of conversations with Steve in the mailroom at GEH.
He was easy to talk with - and we were both dealing with issues of aging parents.
Turned out I knew his wife from many, many years ago and my friend Bob was one of her MCC friends (secret crush?)
Plus Steve went to Woodstock! How cool is that?
Sure don't like not being in the world with him anymore.
Gone too soon. But he accomplished a lot and left behind a good family.
None of us gets much more and a lot of us less.
RIP Steve.

Steve was one of the best of the best that I worked with at Eastman Kodak Company. His approach to work, his willingness to pitch-in to get work done on time and complete, and his patience working with new folks, like me, in the Motion Picture testing area of Bldg 6., were his hallmarks. One step into his cubicle clearly showed that Steve valued his family and "life after work" so much more. I think anyone who interacted with Steve walked away for the better, and isn't that the meaning to "Love thy neighbor"?
Although Steve's passing is way too soon, I am confident that he did His Master's work well and will be granted his just reward. For those in the family suffering this loss, you will all be in my daily prayers during this difficult time.

Elizabeth and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies. It was truly an honor to have gotten to know Steve as I volunteered my Reiki services to him. I could tell right away that he loved his family very much. He faced his diagnosis with faith and courage and I never heard him complain. I have been honored and blessed to have met such a wonderful person and his family. Blessings and sympathy to all.
